Our guest speaker will be Joel Stepanek, the Vice President of Parish Services for Life Teen International where he guides several teams that support Catholic parishes in creating and sustaining vibrant youth ministries that form passionate Catholic evangelists and disciples.

Prophetic Evangelists:  Ministering to Generation Z

Teenagers today, Generation Z, are vastly different than any previous generation and face unique challenges and offer unique gifts to our world. This engaging workshop examines what makes Generation Z so unique, their beliefs and attitudes toward religion and the Church, and how we can respond to help them encounter Jesus Christ. This workshop is vital for any adult that serves teenagers - whether they are a youth minister, DRE, priest, or volunteer - as the choices we make (or refuse to make) in serving this generation will impact our world for decades to come.

"Exploring Catholic Social Teaching"
You will learn the 7 key themes of Catholic Social Teaching and how they give us guiding principles for upholding the dignity of every human person and living in society, as well as the meaning of the principles of solidarity, subsidiearity, and the common good and how to live them.  In addition, how to help your students evaluate the world with a truly Catholic worldview.

"Created in Christ: A Catholic Response to tthe Sin of Racism"
This Workshop will guide teachers to help students consider how sin is at the root of racism, and how Christ helps us overcome sin and work for holiness, peace, and justice in the world. We will also examine how, though often well-intended, educational or political approaches that fail to acknowledge our wounded human nature and need for God’s grace will inevitably fall short or even make things worse.
